Help & guides
Shopify is powerful but a bit fiddly. Here’s every step in plain English — especially the stuff that trips everyone up.
Because in Shopify, creating a page and adding it to your menu are two separate jobs. Your pages exist — they just aren’t in the menu yet. The header shows whatever’s in your Main menu, which starts as Home / Catalog / Contact.
Creating a page never adds it to your nav automatically — the menu is always built by hand under Content → Menus.
Once your pages exist (see the guide below), build the menu:
Drag items to reorder them — that’s the order they appear in your nav.
Templates control how a page looks — your theme ships ready-made layouts for Music, Tour and Contact. You attach one when you create the page:
Pick the template BEFORE you save. A page left on the “default” template will look blank — the layout comes from choosing music / tour / contact.
Two ways to run your site:
If your menu links don’t show in the nav, you’re probably still on One-page — switch to Multi-page and your menu takes over.
Every Riffride theme shows a “Get your merch on Spotify” checklist on your homepage while your store is empty.
The theme is the design. Your products, images and text live in your store and aren’t bundled in the download — so you start with a clean slate.
Use print-on-demand: products are printed and shipped only when a fan buys, so there’s no upfront cost and no inventory.
Email is the one audience you actually own. We use Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — free to start.
